HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY MINH!
I know things haven't been easy for you ever since mum left to Vietnam and things aren't exactly going your way right now, but I still hope you have an awesome birthday and I really do appreciate everything that you do for this family.
PS. I hope both Amanda (for today) and May (for tomorrow) have a safe trip overseas and have an awesome time :)
Friday 06/11/09
I woke up late today because I slept through my alarm. It was probably due to my oh-so-crap sleep the night before and also the fact I put some clothes on top of my phone. Genius. Anyways, I was stressing because I was almost 2 hours late and decided to bother my sister and ask her to drive me to Easties or else I wouldn't make it on time. Thanks a bunch for taking me and not being all angry about it. I also have to thank my awesome boyfriend who called up everywhere asking if anyone had given in a Dick Smith bag and amazingly it was at Coles so I did not need to go and buy another adapter/charger. I owe you big time hun :) I then caught a 400 to the hospital and to my surprise, Amanda got on the bus. This was surprising on two levels: 1. I was holding her 4 month late present 2. I thought this might happen but brushed it off because of the slim chance. We walked it to school together, I gave Linda the card to sign and met up with Shirley. Me and Shirley then went on an epic adventure to find teachers in order to sign out but our year advisor was away so we need to come back another day. After Shirley had signed the card too, Amanda met back up with us and we gave her her present. I'm/we're really glad you like the present and we put much thought into it. Hope it was worth the 4 month wait! Her present consisted of a Domo-kun bag filled to the brim with candy and a universal USB charger with interchangable socket heads (y) After all that, me and Shirley bussed it home and time passed by quickly until I had to start getting ready for a night out with the girls! <3 Bumped into Shirley at the end of hobo park and we walked together to Capital. The asian asian group were there and we bummed around until the rest of my group came. May and Jackie were the last to arrive and after that Linda, Shirley, Janette, May, Jackie and I walked all the way to laser tag in the Darling Harbour warf. LASER TAG WAS BLOODY AWESOME and was super dooper fun!! We were playing with two other random teams but it was unfair because our group had 6 people, one had 7 and another had 9 people. We came last but nonetheless, it was fun getting revenge and acting like you are James Bond :D Overall, I came second in my group with 13 kills so I was happy. After laser tag we stop by the candy shop and walked to Friday night markets for dinner. Met up with Shirley's friend Simon, grabbed food and went to Maccas to sit down and eat. Food was yummy but also expensive lol. After eating, we dropped Linda to get picked up and after a detour, went to K at Show. K was fun too and after an hour me and Shirley walked down to Capital to get picked up by her dad. While we were walking down, it was raining and we manage to step a hidden puddle and one of both of our feet got soaked haha. Thanks so so much for the lift home. Talked to Andrew when I got home and I was happy because 1. he actually stayed home while I was out and 2. he waited for me to call him and 3. he wasn't pissed at me. After that I had a late night snack when my sister brought home Maccas and when it hit 12, we sung happy birthday to my sister :D

L2R: Janette, Linda, Me, Shirley, Jackie and May - Suited up and ready to 007 some ass

After laser tag when we were sweating like pigs, Janette demands a group photo.

Us having red candy lips haha. It was a struggle to keep them on.

We kept getting randoms to take our group photo haha
Thursday 05/11/09
I was late to pick up Janette from her last HSC exam so we decided to meet up in the city. I met up with her, Maria, Klaudia and Millie at Central and then walked out to meet up with Aniqa. We headed to East Ocean to have yum cha and as assumed, their customer service was crap because we were 'kids'. Food was good though and I was happy because I got my mango pudding :D After yum cha we walked to Capital to take caps and to meet up with Shirley. Me and Shirley split to do some shopping and I was so damn tired by the end of it all. Luckily a 308 came so I didn't have to walk so much when lugging everything home. When I got home I panic'ed because I couldn't find the adapter/charger and my stress levels went up by x982364828. Glee and a plan made everything better and I had pizza for dinner :)

Wednesday 04/11/09
Today was a jam-packed day and was the last day of my exams. In the morning, I met up with Andrew at Eastgardens and we went shopping for our cook-off later in the day. By the time we got home I was tired and had to leave for school straight away. Minh drove me to Central and Andrew took me to school. I did not really study for this exam and did not do very well. But because it was my last exam, I DID NOT CARE! Andrew's friend picked me up and took us to Kingsford whilst Shirley got picked up by Kevin. Me and Andrew bussed it home and started cooking straight away. Dinner was finally made after 2 and half hours at 9 and then our mess wasn't cleaning up until 10:40. Man I was exhausted but it was fun and wouldn't mind doing it again.

Chonny's new video is awesome. Check it out:
& I also have big BIG news! There's going to be an Avatar Movie coming out next August! I AM SO FRICKING EXCITED! I really really hope they do not screw this up like they screwed over DBZ. Here is the official trailer:
The trailer looks so good but there's speculation that the movie might turn out to be crap. I think they should have stuck to an animated movie but I guess we will find out if it's any good or not next August.

Maths owned me hardcore!
And I'm not one of those people who say they are going to fail and then get 80%. I woke up this morning from a dream about my Maths exam. Yeah, I know that sounds crazy but I was dreaming that after talking to my friends about the exam, we went back in to do the paper. So essentially we just took a break. I was frantically changing answers and yeah, woke up more disappointed haha. IF ONLY! Anyways I finally plucked up the courage to go through the paper and calculate the answers I missed out on/knew I got wrong and I ended up with just a bit under 60%. Yeah. Goodbye high ATAR, hello mystery mark! Lol so I'm exaggerating but now I'm hoping they do some fancy shit so my Maths marks stays in the 60's or at least my ATAR doesn't turn out so bad! But there is a silver lining...
NO MORE FXCKING MATHS!! ... for now (y) And I am now also determined to own Biology tomorrow!
PS. Goodluck to everyone doing three unit today!
Awesome video! You MUST watch!
I am in love with Taeyang! Haha who knew he was so awesome? :)

Quick, quick blog. I hope everyone is doing well and for all the HSCers out there, I hope study/exams are going well too :)
English Paper 2
I went in the exam with three prepared essays. I reasoned with myself that not all three questions were going to fit my essay perfectly, but I should get at least one. None of the questions matched my essays and I was sitting there in disbelief because all of the questions were yuck. For me, the best to worst would be Module C, B then A.
Module A: A deeper understanding of disruption and identity emerges from considering the parallels between Frankenstein & Blade Runner. Compare how these texts explore disruption and identity.
I had based my essay on how both texts explore the issue of humanity and how this reflected changing values and perspectives and linked it to their contexts. I was stumped as to what 'disruption' was (seriously like WTF?) so in the end I linked identity with humanity and the disruption with the 'disruption' to nature... as did some other people I talked to after the exam (y)
Module B: Through its portrayal of human experience, Shakespeare's Hamlet reinforces the significance of loyalty. To what extent does your interpretation of Hamlet support this view?
I was screwed because I had based my essay around the theme of humanity and mortality and I wasn't sure what the 'human experience' part of the question was referring to. I ended up taking advantage of the 'to what extent' and wrote instead of loyalty, its portrayal of human experience reinforces the significance of humanity and mortality. I asked my teacher if what I did was OK after and she gave me the 'it's probably better if you didn't' look. Lol good work!
Module C: Analyse the ways history and memory generate compelling and unexpected insights. In your response, make detailed reference to your prescribed text and at least ONE other related text of your own choosing.
I was frustrated that they did not ask anything about the INTERPLAY of history and memory as that is what I based my essay on and that's what I believed the whole module was about. Simply, I thought this question was shitty but managed to work my essay around it. I wasn't sure if what I was doing was right though haha
Today I went library with Shirley to study maths. Had lunch with her, Luke and Simon and then went back to study more. It was also good to see Janette going home and make plans for the days after we finish exams and also, thank so much for the gift wrapping job! <3

Business Studies
I wasn't too happy with the Business paper. The multiple choice wasn't as easy as 2008 and there were quite a few which threw me off and required more thinking. For example question 9:
A business makes unauthorised copies of foreign movies and sells them at the RRP of the original product. Which of the following describes this practice?
a) Sugging consumers
b) Dumping illegal products
c) Violating intellectual property rights
d) Engaging in resale price maintenance
I know it's definitely not A or D, but what threw me off was C was the most correct option, but it's not a syllabus term! :| Also more than ever, they put more questions on the yucky stuff and by that I mean ethical, social, legal crap. A business student's worst nightmare! The short answer questions also weren't that pleasant and oh god, question 26 was such a killer for me! I managed to answer two components to the question, but I don't know what I was thinking when I didn't even write about standardization and differentiation! I am totally kicking myself right now :( Lastly, I picked question 28 because I knew more about the market research process than the financial planning cycle and also I really didn't want to write about the type of customers (I also didn't have case studies for those). I spent heaps of time on this question and I'm hoping I didn't do so bad here!
English Paper 1
In my reading time I skimmed through the questions and the paper totally screwed me over. The stimulus for the creative writing did not link to my story and the stimulus for the essay also did not make links with my prepared essay. I also thought both stimulus's were quite narrow and I didn't know what to do when they told me to only write with one self-selected!! I prepared two and now I only needed one?! I also hate the fact that there are people out there who only prepared one and have gotten away with it. Argh I'm not gonna be happy if Module C is the same! Anyway I went into damage control mode, added an extra paragraph to my CW to link it to the stimulus, replaced parts of my essay which linked to 'rewarding' to 'understanding' and ended up cutting out one self-selected. It's so funny because I made random links that didn't make sense, for example:
Raimond uses imagery of his father's arm enclosing him to show a sense of protection. In addition, he uses the repetition of 'I remember' to emphasize on the extent of detail in which he is able to recollect. This shows how there is a sense of understanding between Raimond and his father, which fostered Raimond's sense of belonging.
Does it really Rita? Does it really show a 'sense of understanding'?! Also, the reading and responding was my downfall. Haha I suck at R&R so much already and the texts just didn't make it easy for me. I am now dreading paper 2!
PS. I hope everyone else went alot better than I did :)

Glee is on tonight and I spent my time today searching for Glee songs to download! I love their covers of other songs and I am so damn happy right now because I found a couple high-quality songs (y) Anyways I would like to share something with you guys:
Yes, I realise it's not much but it makes me happy to know I'm one little step closer to what I want to do in the future. I used Audacity and just messed around with the pitch and speed. I prefer songs with cute voices anyways :) I would love to learn how to make real remixes!
